The title of this post is part 2 of the cameo page, but it’s listed as part three on Youtube because the previous night was split into two videos. Long story short, this page took a WHILE to finish.
So tonight I focused completely on just cranking through the remaining cameos, and managed to completely fill the last few spots. I originally had listed the final head count at 24 other characters, but there are actually 22. Somehow I had miscounted, but it still beats the old record of 20 characters that I had reached with the Whitney’s Birthday Party pages.
Altogether, it was a ton of fun. Now onto the inking! Hit the jump to watch the recording.

This stream was focused entirely on refining the character designs for the upcoming pilot episode of Peter & Company. In discussing the project with the lead animator for the studio, we realized that the current character models (as they appear in the comic) would be difficult to animate because of their detail. So I decided to use the opportunity to get some feedback from the viewers on how I could streamline the models to make them easier to animate.
Whitney sat next to me for the entire show, playing a demo on the 360 and chatting with the viewers. It was a pretty fun couple of hours.

On tonight’s show, I finally managed to get through the pencils for the Peter & Company Halloween portraits I have been planning on doing since before the actual holiday. I’m a bit overdue with it, but hey, better late than never.
Basically the concept is just to take the kids’ costumes from the Halloween comic and draw them in parody images of the corresponding characters. Since most of them (except Iggy) are film characters, I used references from stills or posters to determine how each one is posed. I’ll be inking and coloring these over the weekend, but won’t be broadcasting it on camera since — as is mentioned in a few posts and journals elsewhere — tomorrow is my birthday, and I have plans with the family that last through the weekend. The only day coming up that I might be able to do a show is Saturday, but it remains to be seen if I’ll have the time to turn on the cam. I’ll be making a post on the Facebook/Twitter feeds if it works out, so just keep an eye on there if you’d like to catch it.
Otherwise, hit the jump to check out the video from tonight’s show, as well as scans of the (almost) finished pencils for each character’s portrait.

Tonight’s show was intended to complete the pencils for the next page of Peter & Company. Since I am using a new character in this page (who may or may not only be used for this one page alone), I spent the first half hour of the program dedicated to coming up with his character design. The second part of the program is dedicated to slowly producing the lettering for the comic while fielding viewer questions from the chat room regarding word balloon placement, lettering guides, and general rules of composition for a comic page.
The next scheduled show — this coming Saturday — will instead be completely dedicated to producing the entirety of the artwork for this page. I’ll have to produce both the pencils and inks in one sitting, since I don’t have the option to finish it on Sunday as it is my dad’s birthday and I will be spending the whole day at my parents’ home. I hadn’t remembered the party when I originally laid out the schedule, so I do apologize if this gets a little confusing. If you want to keep up with when the show starts on Saturday, just watch the Twitter and Facebook feeds; they will be updated at the very moment I turn on the camera. I’d like to say I’ll be starting it around 4 or 5 pm EST, but it’s really up in the air at this point. The best way to know for sure is to just watch those feeds for the announcement.
Anywho, hit the jump to view the video.

The past two days’ worth of shows were dedicated to drawing the pencils for the next page of Peter & Company. I originally had hoped to get the whole page done in time for this past Monday’s update, but that didn’t quite work out as well as I’d planned. Instead, I’m going to dedicate time this weekend to inking and make sure to get everything finished in time for this coming Monday’s schedule update. I hate missing weeks of P&C pages.
Also, I’m going to be setting a new schedule for each week of this show’s listed topics. I know I had it listed as a daily show, but realistically speaking I just am not able to keep up a daily broadcast. Since I’ve determined that I usually end up doing about half the shows that I usually plan to do each week, I’m going to try setting the schedule for an every-other-day sort of plan. It will change each week as to which days I end up broadcasting, so always check back here every Monday to see the updated list for the coming topics.
On a sidenote, this is also in anticipation of my working on future pages of The Chronicles of Ademar. Since I don’t plan on publishing the entire issues online, I can use the days off from broadcasting as time to work on the pages without showcasing them to the public. I’ll still do pages for shows down the line as previews of upcoming issues, but I want time off-camera to produce the main bulk of the comic.
Anywho, hit the jump to watch the two videos splitting up the penciling for Peter & Company.
