"The Inking Room" is an online art show hosted on Livestream, specializing in sketched and inked line art, watercolors, ink wash, and occasionally digital mediums. It is hosted by myself and my wife, Whitney.
During the show, we will:
- Draw and ink artwork for my personal comic projects, including Peter and Company, The Chronicles of Ademar, and any other projects I may have on my plate.
- Draw random nonsensical and occasionally off-color sketches as warmups, or just spend the entire two hours doing so if it's "one of those days."
- Listen to music and occasionally sing. You can tell me to stop.
- Request feedback and take requests from the viewing audience via the chatroom.
- Schedule live tutorials of traditional and digital art techniques.
- Try to keep the two hours as entertaining as possible.
I also typically record each show and post the saved video to the blog here after each broadcast. That way those who were unable to attend the show can catch up on what was missed.

I’ll be starting the process of finishing these pages on an upcoming show early next week. If I can get a good estimate on how long it takes me to paint the final product, I can get an idea for when the first issue will be released. I’m growing more and more excited about getting this story on paper after so many years of development!
Wow, the last half hour of tonight’s show was something… uh, special. That’s a good word for it.

Continuing with last night’s momentum, tonight I cranked out the second page of Chronicles of Ademar to a very active and hilarious crowd of viewers (I believe this was the biggest audience so far for the webshow, and it was absolutely a blast). It’s good to know that I can keep the pencils for these pages generally within two hours of production time. This one went slightly over (took an extra 15 minutes or so), but that time frame is still a good estimate.

I’ll likely do about four or five of these pages before starting with the inking phase (and the ink wash/watercolors after that). I want to keep them in clusters so it’s a bit like an assembly line.
I also rearranged the schedule for the rest of this week just a bit. My brother’s birthday is this weekend so I will be away for Friday and Saturday. I’ve decided to keep up the pace with Ademar and schedule more pencils for Sunday instead of P&C, since I also have one more piece of fan art to post to the P&C site before the next comic page is scheduled.
Tonight the webshow came back with a vengeance. What I thought would have been a multiple-day project turned out to be a single two-hour session. I managed to get the pencils completely finished for the first page of the Chronicles of Ademar. Tomorrow night’s session — originally scheduled to be a continuation of this first page’s pencils — will instead be spent either producing the pencils for page two, or inking this one. I will leave it up to the viewers who show up tomorrow night to decide which one gets done.

These pages will all be drawn with an active area of 10″ x 15″ on watercolor paper. More details will be added during the inking phase; there is a lightning bolt in the background, although it’s hard to tell without the shadows/highlights that will be put in with ink wash later on.
